Say Goodbye to the Ford Taurus

According a report from CNN Money, Ford Motor Company will roll off or end the production of the Taurus at Ford’s assembly plant next week. The Ford Taurus, a mid-sized sedan that was introduced in 1985 once became the best selling car in the US competing with other vehicles in the segment like the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. The vehicles was also named as the “Car of the Year” by Motor Trend magazine in 1987.

Jim Cain, spokesperson of Ford Motor Company said two vehicles have replaced the Taurus – the Ford Fusion and the Ford Five Hundred. Cain said both vehicles are better products to target the mid-size sedan market segment. We’ll see if the Ford Fusion and Ford Five Hundred can really achieve the reputation that was once obtained by the Ford Taurus.
